About

Dong Lao is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Computer Science and Engineering within the LSU College of Engineering. Prior to LSU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the UCLA Vision Lab under Prof. Stefano Soatto. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences from KAUST under Prof. Ganesh Sundaramoorthi and a B.S. in Mathematics from SJTU.

His research focuses on computer vision models with minimal human supervision, robustness of AI, computational imaging, and optimization. His work appears in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, and JMLR.
